Full Installation Guide for Amazon Sellers, Prep Centers, and Multi-Channel Merchants
Octava integrates directly with Amazon Seller Central to help you manage FBA prep, FBM orders, multichannel inventory, and shipping workflows in one system.
Before you can start using Octava, you must install the Octava app from the Amazon Seller Central Appstore and grant the required permissions.
This guide walks you through the entire setup process, from finding the app to confirming successful connection.
1. Sign in to Your Amazon Seller Central Account #
- Go to: https://sellercentral.amazon.com
- Sign in using your Seller login credentials.
- Choose the correct region (North America, Europe, etc.) if you manage multiple marketplaces.
Tip: Only the primary account holder or a user with the Manage Your Apps permission can install third-party integrations.
2. Open the Amazon Appstore #
Inside Seller Central:
- Navigate to:Apps & Services → Explore Apps
- You’ll now see the Amazon Appstore where approved apps are listed.
- In the search bar, type: “Octava” or “Octava WMS”.
3. Select the Octava Application #
When the Octava listing appears:
- Click the app card to open the details page.
- Review the description, supported features, and permissions.
4. Click “Authorize Now” or “Install App” #
You’ll be redirected to the app authorization screen.
Amazon will show a summary of:
- What data Octava needs to access
- Why these permissions are required (orders, inventory, shipment info, etc.)
- The region(s) where access will apply
To continue:
- Click Authorize or Install.
- You may be asked to confirm your identity (OTP/email challenge).
5. Grant API Permissions #
Octava requires access to specific Amazon SP-API scopes such as:
- Orders & Shipment data
- Catalog & Inventory
- Feeds (for FBA shipping plans)
- Reports (listing, fulfillment, inventory health, etc.)
Review the permissions and click Confirm.
Important:
Without full authorization, Octava will not be able to sync inventory, import orders, or create FBA shipping plans.
6. Return to Octava to Complete Setup #
After authorization, Amazon redirects you back to Octava.
Here you must finalize the connection:
- Confirm the seller account you authorized
- Select the warehouse or fulfillment location in Octava
- Choose which Amazon services you want to use:
- FBA inventory
- FBM fulfillment
- Prep center workflows
- Multichannel integration (Shopify, Walmart, etc.)
- Save and activate the connection.
7. First Sync May Take a Few Minutes #
Octava will begin downloading:
- Active listings (ASINs, SKUs, FNSKU when available)
- Orders (FBM)
- Inventory levels (FBA and MF)
- Product data required for label generation
For large catalogs or prep centers with many clients, initial sync may take longer.
You can monitor progress inside the Amazon Integration Dashboard.
8. Confirm Successful Connection #
Your integration is complete when:
- Octava shows your Seller ID and Marketplace IDs as “Connected”
- Your products begin appearing in the catalog
- FBM orders flow into Octava
- FBA inventory appears in the FBA section
- You can start creating shipping plans using Octava’s workflow
If any errors appear, check:
- Permissions in Seller Central → Manage Your Apps
- Marketplace region selection
- API authorization status
Additional Notes & Best Practices #
Use a Dedicated Octava Warehouse for Amazon Products #
Keeps D2C, prep, and FBA items separated and prevents accidental mixing.
Make Sure SKUs Match Across Channels #
If your Shopify/other channels use different SKUs, configure mapping rules.
Enable Expiration & Lot Tracking (If Required) #
Especially important for consumables and any product with shelf-life rules.
